Hi! I'm Maria Danvers.  I'm a singer and songwriter.  I grew up the oldest of 8 kids, daughter of a grain farmer outside of Fox Valley, Saskatchewan.  Growing up, my musical influences were Glen Campbell, Reba McEntire, Neil Diamond and the Bee Gees.

 

Shortly after graduating high school I moved to Calgary, spent time working with music manager Ann Hutter from OutWest Mangement, put a band together and began touring.  I have had the opportunity to tour from the great north of our country, playing Whitehorse, Yukon to enjoying the crisp, picturesque view from a crushed shell beach when I performed in Zellwood, Florida.

 

I have been on a songwriting / family-making hiatus for the past couple of years and have found success on both accounts!  In Aprili 2007 I married my husband Ben Beveridge, in May 2008 our daughter Cameron was born, and our son, Alec, was born March of this year.  The fun has begun!

 

My debut album "As Long As There's You" was released July 2, 2009 with a tour to promote it that kicked off that May.  So glad the kidlings love music and being out on the road with us.

 

I am truly enjoying this musical trip, sometimes taken in baby steps, sometimes in leaps and bounds.  I can't wait to see where my journeys will take me.  I dream and scheme of international recognition and believe that there is a seat at the Grammy's with my name on it (hopefully next to Reba!).  But most of all, I want to bask in even the smallest of my successes, for I have learned how important time is.  I look forward to meeting you on the road there.
